Individual Therapy

What might bring you to therapy

You may be struggling with anxiety, shame, addiction or a sense that something in your life isn’t working. Perhaps the same difficulties keep appearing in your relationships, or you find yourself withdrawing, seeking approval, losing your boundaries or feeling unable to trust.

You might feel overwhelmed by your emotions—or disconnected from them altogether. Sometimes there is no obvious crisis, but a feeling of being stuck, not quite yourself, or uncertain about who you are and what you want.

What happens in a session

Sessions offer space to slow down and pay attention to what is happening for you. We might begin with something that has happened during the week, a relationship that feels difficult, or simply what you are noticing as we sit together.

Alongside talking, we may pay attention to feelings, bodily sensations, pauses and the ways you respond in the moment. This can help us recognise patterns that are difficult to see alone—such as withdrawing, minimising your needs, trying to please, or protecting yourself from being hurt.

I won’t tell you what to do or try to provide quick answers. We will approach what emerges with curiosity, allowing you to understand how these patterns developed, how they may once have protected you, and whether they still serve you now.

Over time, therapy can help you develop a more trusting relationship with yourself, understand your needs and meet difficult situations with greater awareness and choice.

Beginning therapy

Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly, either in person or online. I offer a free initial conversation so that we can speak about what brings you to therapy and get a sense of whether working together feels right.
